So I start school tomorrow......

Tomorrow marks the first day of the rest of my life, and I am feeling all sorts of emotions about it! I am nervous, excited, anxious, and determined. I am nervous because I have not been in a class room to learn in ten years! I have no clue what to expect as far as the course load goes and how much homework to expect. I am excited because this is a great opportunity for me to become a better person and provider for my family. I am determined to do my best in school and learn as much as I possibly can! I want to become a better writer, for me, and for you the readers.

I am going to school for marketing management with a focus in social media management. In a perfect world I will get an internship with a local sports team as the end of my two year college career is coming to an end, and then to be hired for a full time position with the said team. I don't have a preference in what sport I work for I just love sports and want a job where I can deal with them every day.

I will be attending school full time, my first semester at Century College will be 13 credits. along with my generals I hope to take courses about interviewing, and photography. Hopefully during my time in school I will be able to juggle interviewing, homework, and being a full time father while still providing you (the readers) with quality interviews to read.

I was given the opportunity to go to school because my previous job closed. They brought in a dislocated workers program to help people decide what to do with their future whether it be school, finding a new job immediately, or getting some training to get a job not related to your current job. When I sat down with my counselor Kathey Furkel I told her that I was unsure about what I wanted to do. The thought of not working is scary when you have 3 kids and a wife, and you have been the main provider for five years. I told Kathey that I thought I would be foolish to pass on a free two year degree and she agreed. When I started to tell her about my interests and brought up my blog she got very excited, and told me that I should go into school for social media management. Kathey told me it is a growing industry with a very high ceiling so that's how I came to my decision. I hope you can all follow along with me while I take this journey and listen to my stories that I have about my learning experiences, classes, and new friends made.

Have a good day and thank you for taking the time to read.

  2. There were certainly a lot of great times working together at Circuit. That was one job I had that I actually loved going to. Not to mention the fun we had as a department in and out of work. I hope all is well with you and your family Lee.
